Back in the Rocky Mountains near the world famous Lake Louise is my favourite place in the world, Moraine Lake. If you were to go there, park in the lot and start hiking up to the right, in about an hour and a half you will arrive in this super wonderful place called Larch Valley.
Now, most of the year the trees are all green and it looks beautiful but there is one time of year that lasts for about 2 weeks where the larch trees turn yellow and contrast the evergreens, blue sky and gorgeous mountain peaks and THAT’S where this shoot took place.
Our couple joined us on the hike and though we thought we were pretty in shape, they put us to shame :)… as the raced up the mountain without seemingly an effort. However once we arrived at the spot, the weather cleared, the sun came out and produced these magnificent photos. The sun lit up the yellow trees, the blue sky was amazing and our couple with their multiple dress changes added an incredible combination into these stunning photos. I just love this photo with the incredible colours, light and emotion that came together. I also finished editing this particular photo while I was on the airplane bound for Zanzibar, Tanzania. That too makes it just a little bit more special for me :). There is nothing quite like mountain backdrops… Come join us on one of our mountain adventures :).
