As a wedding photographer, one of the most exciting things about a wedding is finally seeing the bride and her bridesmaids when they are ready to walk down the aisle. Seeing the transformation from no makeup, messy hair, and robes, to eyelash extensions, updo’s, and gowns, is truly a remarkable process.Every big day has a different group of bridesmaids who are equally excited to see their friend tie the knot. I love capturing group shots of the girls looking classy and elegant before heading off to the ceremony, especially after all of the hard work that was put into their look.
This photo in particular is one of my favourites. I posed each bridesmaid in a way to show off the light pink, long sleeve dress differently. I also like the way the bright pink bouquets pop against the dusty-pink colours. Both the colour palette and the style that was chosen is very tasteful, right down to the nude high heels. Another great part about the pre-ceremony shots is capturing the smiling, glowing faces of these nine ladies and being able to portray the excitement and emotion on camera. There are not very many occasions that a bride’s closest friends will all be together, which is why getting the perfect group shot is so essential.1/125; f/4.0; ISO 2000; 30.0 mm.
