Sunset is always an enchanting time for photographs. The colours in the sky are absolutely stunning and the sun paints the landscape with a golden glow. Photographers are very fortunate that this magnificent phenomena of brilliant lighting and stunning skylines are a daily occurrence. Though, with such ideal conditions, we ask ourselves: "How can we make a sunset photo even better?"
The simple answer is: Take advantage of the best worldwide locations to view a sunset, and this is what we have set out to accomplish with our photographs.
This photo was taken at the peak of Grouse Mountain Ski Resort, which offers a panoramic view of the Vancouver skyline. This idealistic location is made even more fantastic as the sun would set behind our couple beyond the city and the vast waters of Howe Sound. It was nearly unimaginable to believe that all these qualities would fall together at that moment into such a beautiful photograph.
Grouse Mountain, the definitive "peak of Vancouver", was just a 15 minute drive from downtown Vancouver City, but from the summit at roughly 4,100 feet above sea level, the city appeared so small, it was almost indistinguishable as the great city of Vancouver. We had taken the Red Skyride up the mile long journey to the peak of Grouse mountain where we were hoping to get some nighttime photos, however at the peak we noticed the magnificent sunset, and quickly took advantage of the beautiful visage. The results were absolutely breathtaking.
