The land of Italy has been occupied for many centuries. As such the landscape is littered with old little towns. In the past each one was walled and had castles protecting the city, though in more recent decades these have fallen into ruin or destruction as time and decay have taken their toll. Some however are still standing and the cities are still contained within the walls of the city. One city in particular that holds all the old world charm of centuries past is the village of San Gimignano. This popular tourist city as well as architectural and archaeological wonder is known as the city of towers. For a period of time your standing as a citizen of the city was measured by the size of your tower. As a result over 90 were built, but 11 still stand today. We had the privilege of taking a bride and groom around this city in their wedding dress and tuxedo to take pictures of them. These photos taken throughout San Gimignano, the old Tuscan village, showcase the beautiful use of architecture, posing, beauty, style, texture, mood, contrast, as well as lens selection, choice of Nikon camera, grid, softbox, external flashes and the like in order to capture stunning and life long traditional wedding photos.
