Unionville is a standing reminder of the roots of developed Ontario. This suburban village of Markham was for many centuries from 1794 a village unto itself and has now been incorporated into the larger area of developing Markham. The town boasts historic buildings and restaurants including some century homes still used as residential buildings which makes it uniquely architectural and a perfect place to do engagement photography. Photos taken here with soon to be brides and grooms have an old world feel through the architecture and small town feel of this gem of the GTA. So popular are pre-wedding pictures here that one will often see other engaged couples strolling the streets between the Millennium bandstand and the Stiver Mill. Sometimes we have finished our photo sessions with a hot chocolate at the Starbucks or a stroll through the popular Old Firehall Confectionery which is pretty hard to walk out of without a pocket full of candy. We are fortunate that the streets still leave many open spaces where we can venture into the open lanes to make use of the upper levels of the architecture of the old firehall or church as backdrops to the photos. Taking engagement pictures in Unionville will give you an old world charm to your photos which is sure to add to the feel of your wedding.
